After studying economics at the University of Constance, Philipp Weinschenk completed his PhD at the University of Bonn and the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods, where he subsequently worked as a postdoc. After a substitute professorship at the University of Mannheim, he became Full Professor of Microeconomics at the Rhineland-Palatinate Technical University of Kaiserslautern-Landau in 2015. At the University of Hohenheim, he is attracted by the very inspiring academic environment and the collegial and constructive atmosphere.

In his research, Philipp Weinschenk focuses on applied micro-theory, in particular the effect and design of incentives. He also uses various behavioral economic approaches and combines theoretical models with field experiments in some of his research projects.

We are happy that Philipp Weinschenk enriches the Department of Economics with his wide experience in research and teaching.
