Paul M. Schaudt is an SNSF Ambizione fellow working on Political Economy, Development Economics, Public Economics, and Economic Geography at the University of St.Gallen. His recent research projects examine the effects of regional capital cities and natural resources on the spatial distribution of economic activity and political stability within countries. In his paper “Insuring peace: Index-based livestock insurance, droughts, and conflict”, he studies to which degree index-based livestock insurance can mitigate farmer-herder conflicts during droughts.

In winter term, excellent international academics will be visiting the University of Hohenheim to present their current research at the Research Seminar in Economics. In addition to attending the lecture, there is often a special opportunity during the office hours to exchange ideas with the guest, e.g. about own research approaches.

Master's students are also welcome to take part in the research seminar.

The lecture takes place on October 23 at 12:00 in HS 33.
