Badis Tabarki, Ph.D. - Welcome to the Department of Economics [17.07.26]
Since summer 2026, Badis Tabarki has joined the Chair of International Economics at the University of Hohenheim as a postdoctoral researcher. His research focuses on the intersection of international trade, industrial organization, and microeconomics.

Badis Tabarki has been working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of International Economics at the University of Hohenheim since summer 2026. Alongside his research activities, he is also involved in teaching and contributes to the academic work of the chair.
His research interests are at the intersection of International Trade, Industrial Organization, and Microeconomics. His work examines the welfare effects of globalization and its recent retreat under flexible demand systems, realistic trade costs structure and heterogeneous firms in the tradition of Melitz (2003). His collaborative research agenda at the University of Hohenheim will involve theory-guided empirical work to test the empirical validity and quantify the magnitude of identified theoretical mechanisms using German firm-level data.
Before joining Hohenheim, Badis Tabarki was a Research Fellow at the Centre d’Économie de la Sorbonne and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Bocconi University. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the Paris School of Economics and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
