The Department of Economics at the University of Hohenheim congratulates the head of the Economic and Social History Division on her nomination to the Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry of Economics (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie BMWE.
Prof. Sibylle Lehmann-Hasemeyer is head of the Chair of Economic and Social History at the University of Hohenheim. With her nomination on June 15, 2026, the economic historian will bring her academic expertise to independent economic policy advisory work at the federal level. Her call to this prestigious board is a remarkable recognition of her research achievements.
Prof. Lehmann-Hasemeyer researches financial and capital markets, innovation, and regional economic development. Her work combines economic-historical questions with modern economic methods and makes a significant contribution to our understanding of long-term economic developments and processes of social transformation.
The BMWE’s Scientific Advisory Board provides independent advice to the Federal Minister on fundamental issues of economic policy. It is one of the most prestigious bodies for scientific policy advice in Germany.
