To conclude the Hohenheim Research Seminar in Economics, the Department of Economics welcomed Jochen Güntner from Johannes Kepler University Linz on 8 July. In his talk, he presented a study on multinational firms and the transmission of productivity and credit shocks across countries.

Following the presentation, an engaging discussion developed, allowing participants to explore the study’s results and implications in more depth. The subsequent gathering outdoors in front of the lecture hall also provided an opportunity for conversations among researchers and guests from the Universities of Hohenheim and Stuttgart, as well as for further questions to the speaker.

The seminar series thus came to a fitting close in a pleasant atmosphere. The Institute of Economics is already looking forward to the Winter term 2026 and to welcoming new and exciting research guests.

During the summer semester, the research seminar once again hosted outstanding international scholars at the University of Hohenheim, who presented their research to the academic community. In addition to attending the talks, the office hours often offered a special opportunity to exchange ideas with the guests and discuss one’s own research approaches.
