European Historical Economics Society Conference, 4 to 6 September 2025 at University of Hohenheim [18.08.25]
The University of Hohenheim welcomes many international researchers from the field of economic history to the European Historical Economics Society conference.
The European Historical Economics Society (EHES) was founded in 1991 to promote European research and training in economic history. The Society is registered with the Charity Commissioners of England and Wales and its aims are stated as: “The advancement of education in European economic history through the study of European economics and economic history, particularly through the comparison and analysis of European economies”. It brings together scholars from leading universities and research institutions in Europe and further afield, and publishes the European Review of Economic History four times a year,
Furthermore, the EHES promotes research and cooperation in economic history by organizing conferences. This year's European Historical Economics Society Conference will take place from September 4 to 6 at the University of Hohenheim. The program committee consists of Jörg Baten (Tübingen), Mikołaj Malinowski (Groningen), Anna Missiaia (Gothenburg), Sibylle Lehmann-Hasemeyer (Hohenheim), and Eric Schneider (LSE). Mary O'Sullivan (Geneva) will deliver the keynote address. The provisional title of her lecture is “Putting ‘modern economic growth’ in its historical place.”
