Inflation Forecast, Targeting Revisited [06.05.26]
Zeno Enders from Heidelberg University will be a guest speaker at the Research Seminar in Economics on May 13, 2026. He will present his research on the European Central Bank’s (ECB) inflation forecasts.
Zeno Enders is a professor at the Alfred Weber Institut für Wirtschaftswissenschaften (AWI) at Heidelberg University. His research focuses on macroeconomics and monetary economics. In his study, he evaluates the ECB’s inflation forecasts. Under inflation targeting, central banks such as the ECB adjust their monetary policy to keep expected inflation at the target level. His findings suggest that monetary policy has a rapid impact on inflation, which necessitates short-term target horizons.
In the summer term, excellent international scientists visit the University of Hohenheim in the research seminar and give lectures on their research. In addition to attending the lecture, there is often a special opportunity during office hours to exchange ideas with the guest, e.g. about their own research approaches.
Master's students are also welcome to take part in the research seminar and talk to the speakers as well as the doctoral students, postdocs and professors at the institute.
The lecture will take place on May 13, 2025 at 12:00 pm in HS 35 (Kavaliershaus).
