It´s all about Data [27.06.23]
As part of the Master's course "Empirical Public Economics", the Chair of Public Economics conducted a field trip to the Research Data Center/Forschungsdatenzentrum (FDZ) at the Statistisches Landesamt on June 14. The FDZ is responsible for making existing data from the Statistisches Landesamt accessible to research.

15 master students took the rack railroad (Zacke) from Degerloch to Marienplatz. Three representatives of the FDZ presented their work and gave insights into the practice. Special attention was paid to the aspects of data work that are interesting for students: Which data provide the FDZ and how can they be used for own research projects? What is important in providing good data? How does one consider data protection for particularly detailed data? The tour also included a visit to the workstations for visiting researchers.
