Together with coauthors the team elaborated on new quantitative trade models to address the case of tariffs (Felbermayr et al. 2015) and the effect of trade liberalization on the convergence of countries’ real incomes (Felbermayr and Jung, 2015).
The research group closely collaborates with other universities such as LMU and research organisations, including IFO.
Head of the team: Prof. Sibylle Lehmann-Hasemeyer, Ph.D. (University of Hohenheim).
Her team collected a data set on income distribution of Prussian Individuals on a regional level for the period 1892 to 1920 and a large data set on crime at the regional level.
Based on these data, the aim is to study the impact of globalization and industrialization on inequality and analyze the direct effects of inequality on living standards and on safety.
