The Institute of Economic History in the Department of Economics at the University of Hohenheim seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Researcher in Economic History beginning from October 1st, 2023

We invite outstanding and highly motivated young researchers with a PhD in quantitative economic history to apply for this postdoctoral position. We are looking for an early-career researcher who wants to develop his/her promising research agenda to take the next step towards an academic career. The successful candidate will have already demonstrated his/her ambition to pursue an academic career by demonstrating outstanding research skills during his/her PhD studies.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the Institute's teaching and research agenda at the intersection of economic and social history, with priority given to candidates with a research interest in historical perspectives on regional economic development/financial institutions and/or social mobility. Experience in using GIT is an advantage. S/he will work closely with other researchers in the Institute of Economic and Social History and will be expected to produce high-quality research in this area.
